Peter Watts
Starfish: Peter Watts Aurora Awards Northern Stars
Peter Watts lives in Toronto, Ontario.  He made an impressive entry into the Canadian SF scene in 1992 with his Aurora winning short story A Niche which originally appeared in Tesseracts 3 and was reprinted in Northern Stars and Aurora Awards. Peters Aurora nominated short story Bethlehem appeared in Tesseracts 5

Dr. Watts has a number of degrees in marine biology. He is also a fiction editor for On-Spec magazine and is "intermittently involved with Relic Entertainment, makers of the multi-awarding RTS computer game Homeworld

Peter's critically acclaimed novel Starfish received an Honourable mention for the 2000 John W. Campbell Award. It was also an Aurora Award  finalist, A New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and a  Locus "recommended first novel".  His short story collection called Ten Monkeys: Ten Minutes is available from Tesseract Books. Peter's latest novel, Maelstrom, is a sequel to Starfish. It was a Starred Review by Booklist and was a 2002 Aurora Award finalist. Watch for the final installment of the Starfish trilogy, ▀ehemoth, Book One: ▀-Max, coming in June of 2004
